I received this modem and was very excited to disconnect my current router and connect the upgraded TD-W8970 unit. I followed the instructions but couldn't get the ADSL light to synchronize. I called the Tech support line and was told I had a defective product. They didn't try to troubleshoot or anything. This is being returned in the morning. Disappointed!!

I did some research online in regards to modems and routers. This seemed to be a good choice for my needs. Modem and router all in one and wireless abilities. I also liked the 2 USB ports for memory storing and sharing. When I received the unit, I appreciated the workmanship and quality.
Switching modem/routers was very time consuming and difficult for me. I followed all the instructions from both this company and my carrier and could not get the modem working. I had to deal with three passwords from my carrier and three from this company. I called my carrier and they could not get it to work even after talking me through all the hoopla for an hour. I almost returned this unit because my carrier said it had to be defective. I took a second look at it the next day and "Walla!" Got it to work!
Anyways, the unit wasn't defective and is working great. Good range throughout my home. Easily connected up with all my wireless items after it was going. Glad I didn't return it.
I would recommend this product.
